Welcome to Addis Ababa

[:en]Addis Ababa city is the capital of Ethiopia as well as the diplomatic capital of the African continent. The head quarter of Africa Union and United Nation Economic Commission for Africa are located in Addis Ababa.

Empress Taytu Betul wanted to live in Addis Ababa in the late 1800’s and founded by the Emperor Menelik II in 1886.
Addis Ababa means “New flower” in the main language of Ethiopia: Amharic. In 1905, the Emperor imported a large number of eucalyptus trees from Australia, which he planted along the streets of the city – these are still visible as a forest in Entoto Mountain and thought the country.
